Kakadu Camping Trip

The first camping trip we have been on up here since the kids were born and it went off very well. Eddie loved the tents (and we knew Maggie would). We stayed at Cooinda and there was a highlight of Eddie playing on the jumping pillow with all the other camp kids.

Saturday we went to Ubirr and Nourlangie. We spend the afternoon in the swimming pool.

Sunday we found Ikomarywa water hole. We went to pine creek but unfortunately the old trains were closed due to lack of volunteers to run it.

Overall a very successful trip.

BARRA FARM WITH EDDIE

Maggie was sick so Eddie came with me and Pa to the Barra farm for Pa’s birthday. I had planned on taking him anyway as a spectator because the last time he was not very interested. Maybe it was luck that Maggie couldn’t come because he really enjoyed himself! He played a lot, enjoyed winding the fishing rod in, was interested in touching the fish and was the last one to want to leave. And he’s so cute in his Akubra!

Camping at Paradise Valley for Gaga’s 70th

We went down to Paradise Valley for Gaga’s big birthday for 4 nights. We had to spend one of them away as it was very hot and windy and we were concerned about the fire risk. Camping during the Victoria summer is interesting with the kids, particularly for the light as it was dark around 9pm and light at 5.30am.

Eddie was loving the sheep and the water, but mostly the dirt and being able to play his trains in there. Maggie played with her cousing for the most part, equally loving the water. It was our first camping trip with the full family but it worked really well and we are now hopeful that we can do more this year.
